How to do a good job in safety management of controlled atmosphere cold storage

1. Safety management of warehouse enclosure structure: A controlled atmosphere cold storage is a building with special requirements for air tightness. Changes in temperature inside and outside the warehouse, as well as the operation of controlled atmosphere equipment, may cause changes in the pressure difference on both sides of the warehouse enclosure structure. If the pressure difference exceeds the limit, it will damage the enclosure structure, and it should not be taken lightly because the controlled atmosphere cold storage room is equipped with safety valves and buffer air storage bags.

2. Personal safety management: The operation and management personnel of a controlled atmosphere refrigeration warehouse need to master basic safety knowledge. The gas in the controlled atmosphere cold storage cannot sustain human life, and it is not allowed to enter the controlled atmosphere cold storage recklessly. Operators must be proficient in using breathing devices.

3. In order to better ensure personal safety, the following management measures should also be taken:

① Write a prominent danger sign on the airtight door of each air-conditioned refrigeration room: "Danger! There is no oxygen in the room, and those without oxygen masks are strictly prohibited from entering; When leaving the cold storage, operators should lock the airtight doors and their small doors to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering and endangering their lives.

② When repairing equipment or checking storage quality, two people need to walk together, both wearing breathing devices, and one person should enter the warehouse while the other person is observing outside the observation window. It is not allowed for two people to enter the warehouse for operation at the same time.

③ At least two intact breathing devices should be prepared and their reliability should be regularly checked.

④ Regularly carry out safety education for cold storage operations to establish a strong safety awareness among all operators.
